Another lovely day made the number of crispy rounds for July a record 230 from about 80 players. Besides anything else, that's 230 pounds worth of crisps! I am sorry to report that Chris Pitman doubled his score on the 7th hole after his 1 from last week and also, without aid from Rick O'Shay, managed to tattoo the Locksmith with a Titleist on the leg. Malcolm Lawrence was seen, trance-like, moving about the conifers on the left of the 5th and seemed very reluctant to leave the trees for some time but still managed a par. The scores this week returned to normality, with the winner being Dave Chesney on 39 from Michael Bird (again), Gary Wide, our glorious President (cut 5 shots) and John Foster. Lots of people contributed to the crisps led by Richard Maslen with 19. Brian Trickey continues to use dodgy balls and his handicap is rising accordingly which is surprising for one of his talents but then, that seems to be the case for a lot of us! On into August then.. |
