Summer rain for the early starters and then sunshine. Course in good condition with wildlife and lost balls predominating the rough. It was nice to see the Bleating Bush Warbler and Bronze-wing Courser off early, just managing to stay ahead of some rather woe-bedraggled Swifts. The Golden Oriole won by a short head from the Red-billed Oxpecker (cut 8 poor thing), both with 40 points. Then, back from a tour of Devon came the (crowing) Glossy Ibis and (of course) the Road Runner. Treating us to crisps were the Paddavreter (who hasn't paed?), the White-browed Scrub Robin, the Nuthatch and the Orange-throated Longclaw. The normally immaculate Red-capped Crombek faltered as well this week but the (great contributing) Ring-necked Parakeet didn't and was up there with the best of them - well done! |
