With a temperature around 70 (20 for the modern ones), the course a little groggy from lack of use, the Crispies were off. The Locksmith was in a pair of smart but old shorts when we were expecting gold larme and braid but there was plenty of style too. The good looking one was seen sending turf further than the ball off the 6th tee but, hey, there was a lot of that and the average score was 29 rather than 31. The Newnes family have imported another bandit (see later) and Ed wonders whether the term for the trio should be a pride or more likely a gang? James Brice won with a credible 37 followed by Phil and Will Newnes (where was Tom?) then John Snell. There were plenty of people contributing but not seeing crisps: Cobbler, the good-looking one, the Locksmith, Heaving, El Presidente, the Prof (having chucked his wedge into the undergrowth) and the bread-loser. Money will be given and taken at the bar. Thanks for good cards - those who put scores and 2s on the email made it far easier and errors less likely! |
