The weather was warm with sunny spells and little wind, so perfect for playing and scores were high with an average of 34; the course was lush and the greens running well. Richard Hatcher, in spite of sitting peacefully behind the not so Swifts, managed to get in the winnings and hit a wonderful shot at 16 to 6 ft. Winner with 41 was the ever-ripening Andy Berry (cut 7) from the said Richard Hatcher, Martin Hogan, Gavin Whitworth and our much estimed President. There were losers, of course, with 32 catching it this week; your editor managed to score 7 points on the last 2 holes to avoid this fate. Victims were burgerman, badlass, hooligan, broken-down, liverish, yellowish, fallen-at-the-first, blackface, a-bit-bad and narrowman.
