The weather had promised a great deal of rain but in the event, it stayed dry and reasonable warm. It was a pity that the greens were in need of cutting as they were not easy, not to mention straying off the fairways. The grass is certainly growing. This week's winners scrapped for top dog, with Oliver Yarde, our present leader, winning with 40 points from a past champion, Stuart Ling. Third was the present champ, Nat Pepperell, followed by Ian Sutcliffe and Chris Wadham (both mysteriously reappearing from the past). Lots of crisp buyers: Malcolm Lawrence, Robin Herbert, Steve Coomber (yoyo to his friends), Jim 'our leader', J-J, Glynn Webber and the Secretary bird. Compo has come out of retirement and is now modelling (but we are not sure what) but could take lessons from Trix who was dressed up in a very nice shirt. |
