A surprisingly nice day with sun, cloud and a bit of wind. The course is still holding up well with greens now holding but putts still running reasonably quickly. The Swifts were out early and not caught, either by the combatative Bleating Bushwarbler nor the Bronze-wing Courser. The Glossy Ibis won (a late run perhaps?) with 39 on count back from the Golden-rumped Tinker Barbet. The Gymnogene (a new entrant) followed, then the Birdman. Sadly brought to earth were the Oxpecker, the Crested Barbet and our resident pro, the Blue-billed Firefinch. The Cape Dabchick re-entered the Crispy ranks and contributed to the crisps too. The Golden Oriole sneaked in with 37 points and got a shot back - clever! We now all look forward to the Ryder Cup and wonder if the Road Runner has been selected as a late Vice-captain? |
