After some serious rain in the morning, the afternoon was dry with only a light breeze. Scores were likely to be higher but There were still some vying to buy the crisps with the Treasurer the winner by one. Some of us were honoured to be playing with the President and were astounded to see him competing for the crisps but narrowly missing out - hard luck Jim! Mr Hannigan (another Crispy favourite) attempted to fell the Treasurer off the second tee with a loud (Irish) bellow being heard through the trees and the President remarking dryly that he thought 'an appendage of some sort must have been hit because of the fuss being made'. The whole thing must have unhinged Mr Hannigan who went on to come 4th and was then cut by 5 shots (a record for this season). Congratulations to Mark Popham who won with 41 points and was only cut by 4. Finally Gary Wide was not quite so spectacularly dressed this week but still appeared in the headlines, coming second. |
