The weather was warm but changeable with some showers around lunch time; the greens were good after the club championship so let's hope that's where they remain. Golf is often a game of alternative realities which was illustrated this week by a 41 (let alone anything less) not getting on the winners' podium. There were also tales of airshots on more than one part of the course from quite distinguished members of the club. The winner with 44 was Dan Brierley (working well from home) followed by Richard Maslen, Martin Short and Trickey-Dickie (not, for once, telling of the one that got away). Generously keeping the nibbles going were markedly-depressed, the good looking one (slightly battered), Locked-out, Dentures, Fine-wine and one of the Newtes (luckily only one). The editor is suffering elsewhere next week so the results won't be published until Friday. As it is the end of the month, watch your bar bills as some people have positive numbers. |
