Cloudy with showers getting heavier as the day wore on, so later players toughed it out. The Swifts rushed out with the stunningly powerful Hatter whose shots often soared over the greens. The winner this week, quoted as complaining 'that his score should have been far better' was the inimitable Ken Reid with 38, cut -8, followed by Alan Hannigan (who also should be far better), Will Parkman, Gary Wide and Will Newnes (all playing with -1). Giving us all calories were Andy 'Deadeye' Smith on 21 followed by others including the immaculate Dusky Miller in various shades of pink. Gary Wide is here for only a couple more weeks weeks before going for heart surgery although there is some doubt that this will be found but we wish him well, particularly since he has been assigned an apprentice plumber as number one on the table! We also like to congratulate David Fineberg for returning after suffering more than most last week - the golfing gods can be cruel. |
