It is to be supposed that Storm Agnes, gale force winds and driving rain would put Crispies off for the second week in a row. The forecast changed with winds less than 20 mph and only the odd squall to contend with and some Crispies were tempted out. (It has to be said that, last week, only the Swifts were brave enough to complete 18 holes, coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd from first and from last). Winner yet again was Jeff Andrews with 40 points from Richard Hatcher (who was reluctant to play in such winds), David Pring and John Snell. In the losers' enclosure yet again was the editor, chastened, licorish, el presidente, short-on-rations and tomato-sauce. Let's hope the weather is kinder next week. |
