I don't think I've every seen the car park so full on a Wednesday evening, obviously not all crispy boys but tonight's turnout was our highest every at 48 players. A good evening it was too, rather slow at times on the course but not as bad as I had expected, weather great and fantastic playing conditions. Pat Jones and Alistair Johnson took full advantage tonight with their 42 and 41 points respectively. In fact scores generally were better than in previous weeks, I'm only guessing that better pin positions and the greens rolling well were the main contributors but also there was very little wind tonight so perhaps that had something to do with it as well. At the other end end of the table there were some low scores and I feel I need to mention Scott Leeming who was obviously having a bad night but kept going and never gave up. It was his first night this year, I wonder if he will come back for more?We have split the spoils tonight down to 5th place due to the large numbers playing so lucky Martin Short comes away with something, Oh and loses 2 shots. Lastly, ours thoughts go out to Lee Palk who came fourth tonight with 39 points only to be cut 7 shots, his crispy 5 and 2 for being in the winnings tonight. Good luck for next week Lee and mine's Salt and Vinegar please, lovely yum yum. |
