From soaked to bone dry in the space of little over a week made the course seem rather shorter than the backest of the back tees; greens were hollow tyned and quick so slightly bumpy. This didn't stop a host of 2s with Andy Smith greedily picking up two. Winner this week was Paddy Farrell with 40 from Alan Shire (obviously successfully rebuilt), David Pring, Will Newnes (rags to riches in two weeks) and Andy Smith. There were losers too: Marked-andrews trooped gloomily off the course followed by 006½ (again), leeb, olive-oiled, pillow-fight, the old pro (trying another technique), button_holed (new clubs not withstanding), wobblester, tomboy, rained_upon and musseled. I've just learned about the ladies, gents and pros on the 14th which seemed very amusing. Good to know that there is still a sense of humour but perhaps we need a name for the out of bounds woods? No swear words of course! |
