The first (and toughest) Crispies trooped out in pouring rain, to be met by those dripping unfortunates who had played all morning; the greens are still suffering but we hope not for long now! Pete Scaratt won with 40 points from Lewis Woodcock on 39 - rather like the Premiership - followed by Kelvin Oxley, 35 and Matt Contreras, 34. In the doldrums, so to speak were (dejectedly) Ryan Aspinall, yours truly, Stuart Ling, Simon Mehrlich and Miles Skuse. It was good to see some old faces back, particularly Brian Trickey in a rather overstated damson coloured shirt but playing tidy golf. John Snell continues to play military golf walking at a brisk pace down and around the 15 fairway whilst playing the 13th. Roger Wallbutton has assured all that he will not fall out with anyone this season and has started well! Finally a comment on scorecards: please remember that they have to be interpreted so it is useful to fill them in correctly with name, handicap and crispy shot adjustment. |
