The weather forecast was wrong, so rather than benign conditions we had some fairly consistent rain which together with someone with a strange sense of humour with pin positions meant that the scores were lower than usual although the average was spot on at 31. The winner with 38 was Chris Coxon (seen playing short on 15 and dropping a shot amazingly) from Keiren Chaffer, Ken Reid and Chris Wadham. The real competition seemed to be at the bottom where there were some awful performances, but the winners(?) were Kobblers, not-harmonious, Hawful, Pitiful, S'notgoodenuf, and offthewall. As one of those competitors, bad play was simply not enough to gain a crispy point, as one needed a much lower level to come out on top. It is not looking as though we will be able to have a Crispy Dinner at the end of the season because of lock-down regulations which will mean putting off the event, with prize giving, until the start of next season perhaps. More on this, when things become clearer. |
