Another lovely day, hot and humid, so suiting those of a tropical inclination; course was really good with lush rough and beautifully rolling greens although the holes sometimes seemed to move at the last moment. With a slow noisy society ahead, the swifts were reduced to a crawl and the Secretary Bird, driving a buggy, forced to do several crosswords whilst waiting. There was a good turnout even in the holiday season with an average score of 31 (low) and another 3 newcomers, meaning we've had 113 golfers playing this year. Winner off -3 was Harvey Morris with 41 (submitted a card so cut there as well), from Jeff Dyke, Kelvin Oxley, Ian Sutcliffe and Nigel Contreras. Selflessly providing the crisps were the Secretary Bird, licorice allsorts, contrawise_P (what is happening Champ?), hogwash, longjohns, up-the-kaiser, splintered, twisted, timbertier and the not_so-goodlooking_one. Pressure on places for the Crispy away day is hotting up so get your bid in sooner than later. |
