It was quite warm and humid with a threat of rain which didn't materialise; the course is drying out so the rough is becoming slightly less punitive. It was good to see the Newts back in action to bring some balance back with the Contrawises. Having encouraged everyone to put in cards regularly, the winners have been caught with a double wammy. 44 points was scored by Lewis Burgess and Johnnie Oliver (cut -5 and -7 respectively) from Jeff Andrews (quill very sharp), David Pring (with an amazing three 2s) and Gary Wide (who needs watching as the form player). These days, anything in the high 30s seems safe from cuts! Crisp buyers were chastened, Contrawise_P, foster son and father (not good, boys), godfrayed, not_so_goodwoman, skudded, thoroughly_bad, feet_rather_than_yards and, back from the country - shier. Could Crispies be reminded that it is an individual's responsibility to ensure that their correct name, h/c index and crispy handicap are all there and to check their score. Although we do change incorrect scores if we find them, it is your responsiblity. With 59 players this week, and odd issues, it took several hours to eventually get everything on the website.
