The weather was sunny with a bit of wind; the course is starting to look burnt and the second cut has been reduced but the greens were slow. For those interested, the Roadrunner is a long-legged bird of the cuckoo family, with 2 toes facing forwards and two backwards. Our own was modestly dressed in grey, fresh from his victory on Saturday. He was soundly beaten by the African Sand Martin (C.Hole) with 40 points from the Cape White-eye (J.Wright) and a viciously fought battle for 3rd and 4th, won by the Blue Crane (D.Clarke) from the Corncrake. Crisps were hard fought again with the Glossy Ibis emerging from the murk to beat the Ring-necked parakeet, the Barn Owl and a new challenger, the Narina Trogan (J.Tong). The Mousebird was busy readjusting his handicap, having been spotted practicing beforehand, obviously to great effect.
