The weather is getting dryer, thank goodness, with a stiff breeze to help it along and the sun showed up occasionally. With the club not booking in another society (beware next week), 59 people played with the average score being 30. Graham Adams was in a fetching pink stripe to set the tone amongst the mud-splattered offerings from some others. Winner with 37 points was Gary Kayser (settling into the Crispies nicely) from Kevin Snell, Kev Pellow, Roger Wallbutton and Mark Andrews (having recovered from being champion two seasons ago and having last year off). There were plenty of crisp contributors amongst whom were buried, the Secretary Bird, braced, contralto-phil, smutts, gotlost, broken egg, old pro, splintered and finewine. For those who are that way inclined, please put in at least one card a month for handicap purposes during the season - it's good for the soul if nothing else!
Afternote: There were 2 mis=scores caused by bad writing with some of the cards containing nicknames and unclear numbers. With 59 playing, the results staff were overwhelmed and Crispies are politely asked to get their act together please! 2 other players dropped into the 'contribution' zone as a consequence. |
