It was the most beautiful day, as late summer often can be, so a shame that some couldn't get there in enough time to play. The Secretary Bird bounced back after last week, ably supported by The Fine Peak. Dusky was out in braces, or so it looked from afar playing with the immaculately posing Snell machine who seemed plainly ready for a media strke. John Webster won from Kelvin Oxley, Martin Short and Nat Pepperell (making a run for home now the Road Runner has stopped?!). With crisps in mind, Chris Chetzoy, Keiren Chaffer (good Somerset names both) were amongst others looking to add to their handicaps as the endrun is in sight. We are all pleased to hear that Gary Wide has come through his op OK although not yet practicing his putting next to the bed! |
