It was cloudy, colder and with a breeze blowing from the North; the greens were pretty poor. Apart from the Swifts roaring away as usual (disbelief over another ball hitting a tree?), Paddy was seen disconsolete in the trees at the 9th, nearly on the fairway; spies tell me that our secret agent was so steathy that he didn't use a battery on his trolley (off it or what?). The winner was Jordan Clapp with 40 (a well earned rest in the summer recess), Paul Godwin (avoiding shelling the Swifts and staying on the fairway), Keiren Chaffer and Gavin Whitworth. In the losers' enclosure were Gray (hiding under his hat), the good-looking-one (although that's getting old hat), The Shanker, fine-wine, not-so-full (well done for completing having started so late) and the celtic-loser. We have collected more money than we have records for so 2 people have paid twice. You can check on the account sheet which will be with the tankard next week. Everybody should try to pay with coin next week as it will be the last time that the club have agreed to take or give money from bar bills. |
