Whether it's late spring or early summer, winter rules have finally ended and the sun came out.The course was playing hard for some with the average at 31; getting in the second cut was an act of score vandalism. The game itself continues to confuse with a really good shot followed by one which is incomprehensible, even to bystanders (who ought to wear helmets on occasion, but no more talk of shanks). The winner this week with 42 was Martin Short, followed by Jon Foster (another tribe forming), Steve Godfrey, Tom Newnes and Charles Fuller. Soaking up the cost of crisps (albeit with some getting 2s) were scribe-one, biggsy-babe, briar, sherbert, in-the-bog, dusty (up to his old tricks), yellowish, thoroughly-bad-again and someone-needs-a-foster-dad. One or two of the cards were below par with monikers such as sooty and fosberry-flop to go with the best from J.Snell of Ivana Trump. The results will be published a couple of days late next week due to the almost unbelievable sin of going on holiday. |
