Summer may be upon us as the sun came out with a warm wispy wind. The good, the bad and the ugly were all in evidence today as coarse golf took to the links. There were winners, of course, with some interesting scores if crispy handicaps had not prevailed (5th would have been first!). However, Steve John with 41 points won followed by the editor, Jeff Andrews (worthy champ reluctant to release his title), Neil Cocks and Gavin Whitworth. Buying the crisps is becoming ever easier with plenty of 31s amongst the carnage: spread-eagled, 006½, scratched-out, dawdling, black watch, oiled (again), scammed and crawler,
tomtom and told-tales. There seems to be a head building about those who scored 38 or more but not being in the prizes escaping being cut. Food for thought again, perhaps for those with multiple crispy shots! |
