The weather was nice early in the afternoon but finished up with lightening later on which put some people off, so we finished with a low turnout. With only 24 playing, there were ten 2s so poor pickings for the Cape Whiteye (J.Wright) this week. The Glossy Ibis was much in evidence with a bewitching pink shirt and matching driver. It was easy to see why no one can catch the Road Runner. At the 11th, he hit a good drive and then a blocked second heading for the cherry tree which ricocheted off a bank to finish 6 feet from the hole and finally a birdie! The Nuthatch was first with 36 points followed by the Glossy Ibis (good to see him back in the money and cut 4), the White-browed Scrub Robin (M.Robinson) and the Barn Owl. The Ring-necked Parakeet supported crisp buying along with the ever swarve Broadbilled Roller and the Drakensberg Siskin (Serinus Symonsi). The course is holding up well in the dry weather and the green staff are to be thanked for their efforts. |
