It was generally a wet and soggy day although the sun shone through at the end of the day. The small field reflected that only the toughest (or most water-proofed) of the Crispys were out. Needless to say, the mad greenkeeper was at work again with tees set outside the course boundaries and pins within inches of the green edges. Add to that the fact that the greens had been sanded, it was small wonder that the scores were not high with Jon White in despair at the bottom of the pack. The editor has to note that he learnt the hard way that sand on ball and putter is not a good combination and the hole proved too small on a number of occasions. James Symons won with a creditable 37, Jason Brock second, Stuart LIng third plus an increase in handicap (!), and the master forth. On an admin note, the scorecards were soggy and one or two felt that a Christian name was sufficient. Roll on next week for the final round of the season! |
