Perfect weather with the course slightly hairy but looking pretty. There was a small turnout, more than last year but the battle for places was fierce with only two scores in the 20s - The Glossy Ibis (24 points) was seen frittering in the trees muttering about how to play a cut and (it can only be surmised at) manipulating his handicap. He was joined in crisp buying by the Birdman and the Pied Wagtail (31), and finally the Orange-throated Longclaw (28). A winning score of 40 was posted by the Black Korhaan followed by the Bar-tailed Godwit (cut 6 - hard luck), a fast moving Blue-billed Firefinch and the Corncrake. |
