It was obviously a lovely day for golf; fresh and warm enough, cloudy so not too oppressively hot. The greens had been cut, and although slow, were true. Perhaps as a consequence, the average was 37, almost professional at one under par. Those with 41 and below had no chance. There was a hole in one at the 8th from Mark Andrews so no compensation for others with 2s (not many anyway). The winner with 46 (the second this year) was Tony Biggs from Graham Adams (45), Andy Thomas, James Olive (cut -9) and Craig Welsher. Even a 34 caught the crisps, so victims were yours truly (who played the wrong ball with a 2 shot penalty), buried, dawdle, gudflayed, badlady, black_watch, sunk-below-the-water-line, heather, bogged_down, scuse_me, s_nelly_k and buttoned_down. There was some talk that El Presidente had shown displeasure with his clubs, but under Rule 17, his word is final, whatever it was. |
