It was a perfect day, cloudy but warm without the rain that was forecast; greens were hard and a good speed although some dressing led to comments but then...! In the winners' enclosure was Dan Brierley with 42 (home working obviously helps), followed by Malcolm 'tractor' Lawrence (protesting loudly), Roy 'the streak' Miller (off -3), The Secretary Bird and finally John Parsons. Those with 37 or 38 points needn't apply. With 48 playing, 28 points cost you and giving us with both hands were comb-over, dented, hogwash, its-just-not-big-enough, newts again, robo-cop, and thoroughly-not-good-enough. We welcome the new comers and wish to comment that this is a friendly society where wingeing of any sort is frowned on, either about other's or one's own scoring. Could The Treasurer also remind people to put correct money into the pot. |
