The weather was cloudy and a touch chilly compared with months past but hardly any wind. Three of the Swifts erupted from the starting blocks much to the dismay of 5 Crispies following. After 5 holes, a deal was made and one fortunate(!) player joined only to disintegrate under the bombardment of mediocraty around him.. Winning with 38 points was Owen Irish followed by Michael Bird (steadily making his mark in the rankings), Martin Short (nice to see him back in the winners' enclosure) and yours truly (surprisingly). We are grateful for continuing contributions to the crisps from The Sandman (soon to be in double figures?), Malcolm Lawrence, The Secretary Bird and The Professor (putting lessons?). Dusty Miller was a nearly man, particularly after he attempted to decapitate your very own editor (what did I write about him?) at the 18th (he did apologise). Next Wednesday, there is a society at 2.30 pm so watch out! |
