After a morning of rain, around 2 pm, the skies cleared with intermittent sunshine but the course hadn't really softened and scoring was again low with plenty of 27s to 30s. The Adams family was out in force and heavily involved with card admin together with the Arabian camel-rider, Lawrence. In a closely fought contest, Charles Fuller won with 38 points from Graham Adams, Jon Webster, Paul Thorogood and J-J Poole (who didn't lose his -1 h/c). In the losers' enclosure were Cock-up, Mullered, Kneed-somewhere, Potato-head, not-so-fine-whine, Jane-came-tumbling-down and willfully newtes. There was a slight worry with El Presidente who wasn't really up for golf but still scored 28 and looked OK but couldn't stand some of the editor's jokes - some people have no resilience. |
