Very warm with lovely sun and no wind, the course was playing a little tough since the grass was thick and the ground stone hard; however scoring was good with the crisps catching people who might have expected to escape. Brian 'muscles' Trickey would like to offer a prize for the retrieval of his ball at the 4th which had proved to be eccentric as it approached the hole! The winner was Will Parkman with 40 points from Oliver Dawson (careless to lose so many shots!), Chris Smith, The Road Runner (who certainly visited many different bits of the course) and Matt Bettridge (welcome!). There were too many in the crisps to mention really apart from our glorious leader, who always gets a headline. Some of the barracking was tough on those of a delicate disposition and Mr M Short, your editor thought, was light on compassion for a brilliant shot that didn't quite turn out as envisaged. The pugilist, Pat Jones, didn't want to see the back of the swifts quite as much as he did, poor chap! |
