The scorecards arrived soggy which reflected the downpours which those Crispys who ventured out suffered during their rounds. The average round was down by 3 which shows the conditions quite neatly. J-J Poole had a great round (handicap was -1, now -4) with 41 points, followed by Will Newnes, Nat Pepperel (who has been quiet this year), and Tony Biggs who had the best back nine of a flock of 35s and lost his crispy shot. Amongst the many low scores which dripped in, our thanks to those enlightened players, Steve Coomber and Pete Scarratt, who fell foul of the rule that early retirement does not excuse you from the crisps. Just a note to say that I will be away for the next couple of weeks, so the website will not be updated until Tue 28 May, I'm afraid. Still, we do have an all English European cup final to look forward to, after that! |
