Cloudy with a stiff wind to start with but threat of rain came to nothing. The Newnes perhaps made history with one top and the other bottom; we await the result of this strategy! Tom won with 41 (after several incompetent recounts by Ed) off a handicap of -3. Trailing behind were Kelvin Oxley, Miles Skuse, James Brice and Ali Williams. In the losers' enclosure were 007½, the good-looking-one again, Stuling, Will-he?, Pityme, Pringle, and our well known Wallflower (a button hole). In spite of the course looking like a ghost town, we had 52 playing and almost all the cards were in on time, so brilliant and thanks. Although allowed this time, continued late submission of cards will mean no entry to the competition depending upon the President's decision. |
