The threat of rain passed and a funny north-westerly remained. Golf can sometimes be a 'strange' game with a whole round spent with rimmed putts, shaved edges and downhill lies facing a vertical face beyond. Then again, some people live in a sublime world as the wide-boy showed us again. Young trickey, having come second last week didn't compete this week - some pathetic excuse about a singles match - but was able to barrack some suffering Crispys so did contribute to the general bon-hommie so perhaps can be forgiven. Mark Peters won with 39 this week which was a good score in difficult conditions. Our new vice-captain, John Snell, had an improving round so is obviously taking his duties seriously. Finally Ali was in cracking form, complementing the pin positions! All in all, a good day. |
