| The weather was pleasant with a capricious wind and the greens were better and faster. News of the day was a first two for the Sandman (although probably not out of a bunker)! Vulcan (G Whitworth) won narrowly from Aqualad (C Hole), then TNT (Tonger) and almost 'of course', Captain Comet who continues to move away from the field. The competition for the Crisps was very fierce with Obsidian (K O'Brien) and Cosmic Boy (Compo) beating The Phoenix and Mr Terrific (M Steadman). The swifts were wrongly accused of holding up the field who had Somerset County Cricket Club ahead of them, a bunch of elderly cricketers carrying some nasty injuries (it is hoped). The Red Rocket was despondent although he played to handicap so we all wish that he will cheer up next week. |
