The weather was warm with a weak northerly wind. The course has returned to hard and bumpy with the greens true if a little slow. The Swifts were out first but could not be caught (for a change). Jamie Short was first (and a new comer) with 38 pipping Chris Pitman, followed by an old champ, Jason Brock (a cameo appearance?) and Kevin 'deadeye' Burt with 36. Although David Fineberg held the bottom place well, most others were unlucky to be buying crisps - Tony Biggs with 28 and then on 29, Bob McWilliams, Chris Hole and our own professor, Mike Steadman. The Treasurer adroitly missed the crisps with some cool play on the back 9. There is a sculurous rumour that Stuart Ling dries the hair on his feet, to produce some beautiful curling putts, using a hair dryer. The editor wonders if this is allowed under the present rules? |
