It was a changeable day although the promised heavy rain did not materialise but it was windy. Scores averaged 33 even though the greens are still recovering from their treatment. It was millionaires' golf with a half empty course, worrying on a club night. A bemused Kevin Snell was seen meandering around the folds of the 15th green, much to the glee of his brother John, ball misbehaving. Mike Robinson had a spectacular 2 at the 10th from under the trunk of the big oak, the ball going in on the first bounce. He then won with 39 points from John Parsons, Graham Adams (our very hard working and much appreciated scorer) and Ken Reid. In the losers' enclosure were the Secretary Bird (having been let through by the swiftest of Swifts), Biggot, Coombless, and much-smitten. |
