The threatened rain stayed off until early evening so it was a pleasant afternoon with lots of grass off the fairways and greens OK and hard. Scoring was extremely good with Charles Fuller winning with a massive 44 points from Alan Hannigan (gremlins removed), JJ Poole (with h/c -1), Richard Harman and Pet Williamson. In the wars, so as to speak (it being nearly D-day): Ken Reid, yoyo (who has developed the unmentionables and shelled the 17th tee whilst yt was on it, yt, Richard Bond, Malcolm Lawrence (glum afterwards - but its only a game M), Oliver Yarde and Spencer Turnbull (welcome). In the twos, quite extraordinarily, were Charles Fuller and Gary Wide who had eagles at the 4th, holing out with their seconds which is a good way of staying on the green! |
