It was cloudy, with a sharp squall mid-afternoon but quite a stiff breeze so scores were down with a repectable average of 31. Roy of the Dusty Rovers hit a high and mighty drive from the 9th tee over the 12 green and was suspiciously covered up as he passed the Swifts on the green. The punch up in the winners' enclosure was led by Michael Bird with 39 points from David Pring, Jonathan (come again) Denton, Scotch Hannigan and Chris Coxon (no longer with shots). Loads of 37s, most of whom scored 17 on the back 9 didn't make it, thank goodness. The intensity of competition to buy the crisps was led by the Newtes, with 007, Bricie-boy, Paddy (what happened?), Short-bread and the wall-paper chap; 25 being the top score this week. One or two may be caught out with their bar accounts as money changes hands this week but, be reassured, the President's decision is final. |
