A lovely spring day with sunshine, leaves coming out but quite a persistent wind. The greens were still bumpy and these two factors may explain the low scoring. The road runner won with a negative handicap but a whizzy trolley. He, the glossy ibis, the pied wagtail (or short rock martin) and dusty Miller snuck out ahead of the swifts who included the normally electric Chanting Goshawk (J. White). Needless to say, he held them up. Dusty was back to his old tricks, firmly back in the middle of the Crisp buyers although competition was intense this week with the Red-billed Oxpecker beating the Bronze-wing Courser (S. Coomber) into last place. Jockeying for handicaps really is getting intense this early in the season. BREAKING NEWS - a reincarnation of James Braid, a famous pro around 1900, was seen strutting his stuff with the most amazing golf cap - one K.Burt, the Bush Blackcap to his friends. Cards were good this week. |
