We had rain to start with (for the hardy ones) and then it proved to be warm and reasonably calm (outwardly at least). There were some treachorous pin positions but people seemed generally up for it as the average for the day was up. Only one two amazingly! Kelvin Oxley was the winner with 40 points (cut 5), followed by Malcom Lawrence, Pep Pepperel (great score off -2) and Oliver Yarde. In the crisps were Alan Shire (amassing a great handicap so watch a future winner), Stuart Sully (really?) and Andy Smith (zeroing errors presumably) ending with Dusty Miller (6 NRs and very nearly a birdy at 18). The mad hatter was without hat (don't do it again) and John Snell was whinging about not scoring when hitting every fairway (what does he expect if he is playing from strange territory?). Nice to see El Presidente way up the table - sign of things to come, maybe. |
