Finally some warmth and sunshine with only a light breeze; even the older ones starting to wear shorts. The scoring was low with 30 being the average which was probably a reflection of grass off the fairways being thick and that on the greens being slightly variable. This didn't affect the winner Kevin Snell who had 40 points from Rich Bond (investing in a Crispy shot last week), Miles Skuse (off -2), Andy Smith (a heavy Crispy shot investor) and Steve John. There was a frantic competition to be in the Crisps this week with not even all the 25s making it; but making the cut (as it were): handsy-biggs, finewine, the black hannigan (a Scottish term), pikey, masdown, El Presidente, two of the newtes, p and t, and buttonup. There was a noticable fostering of 2s with only 5 scored over the field of 61.
Someone has been dumping copper into the pot which is causing anxst to the adminstrators who want neither the hassle or weight of coin - could they please be a little more thoughtful. *** Advance warning of a Crispy outing to Stover GC near Newton Abbot with a field limited to 40. Further details will be on the Home Page soon. *** |
