It was a lovely sunny day with light winds and no societies. Still a lot of grass off the fairways so scoring was challenging. The winner was Robin Herbert with 41 points, beautifully dressed in pressed matching top and shorts but apparently not ironed by his hard working ex-mayoress wife! Second was Richard Harman, then Michael Bird (josselling for top spot), Gavin Whitworth and Peter Bettridge. Down in the dumps contributing to the rest of us were Graham Adams (sporting the biggest hole-in-one buckle ever seen), The Secretary Bird, Andy Berry, Tony Biggs (lessons hurt!), Oliver Dawson, Alan Hannigan, Dusty Miller and Martin Short. Chris Pitman would like to caution people not to mark and clean their ball on the fringe of the green. Also, on a serious note, please look at the website to see your Crispy handicap. Crispy shots are gained once a previous winner has reached and played off 0. Your editor does keep records and will look after you eventually! |
