The weather was really nice with sunshine and light winds; the course was hard with the greens running well. The Swifts were off and running (well, loitering) and the Adams family quickly caught up but getting through was problematical with the best golfer bouncing off trees somewhat to the right of the 3rd green but chipping nearly stone dead to miss the putt. His uncle finally crawled through. Not dispirited though, the swifts moved on. Competition on all fronts was fierce with Kelvin Oxley (quiet so far this year) winning with 42 from Roy Miller (bad investment on Crispy shots), Mike Steadman (listening to the Editor's advice?) and Neil Cocks. Contributing to the general good is becoming even more competitive with a 20 from Buried and then Crash-landed, Bent-putter, Snuffled, Tiny and the Professor (no comments). Have a fine Jubilee weekend before combat for the crisps begins again next week! |
