Cloudy with a persistent north wind made short wearing sheer bravery. The greens were fast and true with the short rough tough and the fairways diminishing in width. Scores were not high with the Bleating Bush Warbler in his element. It was the Red-billed Oxpecker's birthday so his luminescent matching belt and shirt were forgivable. The Golden Oriole (Brockie) and Bush Blackcap (Bertie?) were beaten narrowly by the Black-cheeked Waxbill (R.Wallburton) with 38 points. The Drakensberg Siskin or Serinus Symonsi nearly bottomed the Crispies with a morale saping 20 but that prize went to the Secretary Bird, sadly. There was a heated discussion about balls being aimed at fellow competitors with the Pied Wagtail nearly losing his at the second for which the editor humbly apologizes. Finally - BREAKING NEWS - the Roadrunner is now back to 0 so watch out next week! |
